I'm A Bad Blogger

Those of you who know me well know that I am not a bad person, just a bad blogger. Even when I attempt to make amends and post a monster sized blog, like tonight, I end of getting caught up in "life" and realizing that my grand scheme has failed miserably and that I will have to just write a slightly larger summary the next time around. Tonight, I had intended to use my "free time" to blog and relax, but instead ended up cooking a fantastic pasta and cream sauce meal - and by cooking I mean taking orders and helping the people who actually know how to cook. Anyways, I had intended to go into much greater depth but here is what has been going on with me in the past month or so:

Passover - I had just returned from the States and was able to settle in slowly as I had vacation for the entire holiday. I spent Seder with my Kibbutz family, which was surprisingly not as different as I would expect a Yeminite/Iraqi Seder to be. It reminded me a lot of home. Than I drove down to Jerusalem to help facilitate the movement of Michelle's family, which was visiting from America. I toured with them for a bit and had a very nice time. I was also able to see quite a bit of my good friends Ali and Isaac (including almost all of second chag) who were in Israel for the holiday. All of this amounted to a really good Passover.

Yom HaAtzmaut - I was in Jerusalem for Israel's independence day with a bunch of friends and it was pretty wild. The streets were packed with kids armed with canned snow and plastic hammers. We maneuvered through the crowds to get relatively close to a David Broza concert in Zion Square and made fools of ourselves trying to do Israeli dance at the town hall. It was good stuff.

That's all for now folks. I'd write more but I'm going to try to salvage 3 hours of sleep before heading back to the army. Stay tuned for my next (hopefully later this week) blog where I detail my exploits accompanying a group of American birthright students for three days and relate the riveting tale of my Israeli driving test.
